Jr. NTR’s Evaru Meelo Koteeswarlulu managed to get a very good viewership in its first week. But the broadcaster Gemini TV wants to take it to the next level. Despite poor promotions on social media, the TV channel management is hoping to increase the viewership for the TV show.
Gemini’s rival Star Maa launched Bigg Boss season 5 entered the second week. Compared to EMK, Bigg Boss enjoys a massive following among audiences. We agree that the formats of both the shows are different and it is not right to compare them but if Gemini wants to survive in the rating race, it has to up the game.
The major advantage of EMK is that its timings are not clashing with Bigg Boss. While the former airs at 08.30 PM, Bigg Boss gets telecasted at 10 PM. Moreover, even IPL hasn’t started yet and there is no competition for EMK in its time slot as of now.
Even after having such a huge viewership and fan-following, Star Maa releases at least three promos of an episode every day. These promos generate further attention among audiences and make them watch the show.
But Gemini is not releasing any such interesting promos for EMK and is making the show virtually absent on social media. The lack of regular presence on the internet will definitely affect EMK as the viewership these days mostly depend on interesting promos.
On top of that, the makers of EMK are facing criticism for giving some lame questions to the participants in the game. These questions are so easy that a primary class student can answer them. A few netizens have opined on social media that it is not good to see a show of such a huge legacy coming up with easy questions. Gemini TV needs to correct these factors in order to develop interest among audiences and sustain in the TRP race.
Interestingly, by increasing the ratings of the TV channel, Gemini is planning to sustain the attention of the audiences. The TV show launched a couple of new TV Soaps recently. Sundari and Aa Okkati Adakku are two shows among them. By keeping EMK show in the front seat, the TV channel is improving the overall ratings to get good sponsors for the TV Soaps. This is not a new strategy and Star MAA also does the same. Star MAA launches new TV shows and TV Soaps during the time of Bigg Boss so that the channel can divert the attention of viewers to their new shows.
At the end of the day, it is the game of TRP but we have to see if Gemini can be consistent to show an upper hand on the rival channels.
