Neither bought drugs nor transferred money: Tanish

On Friday Tollywood actor Tanish appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the Tollywood’s drugs scandal. Tanish was questioned by the ED for nearly seven hours and was let go.

The ED found out WhatsApp conversation between Tanish and drug peddler Calvin dated back to 2016-17 and so the Tollywood hero was probed accordingly. Tanish informed the ED that Calvin had organised promotional events of his films and that’s how they got introduced to each other. Apart from this, Tanish made it clear to the ED that he has whatsoever no association with Calvin and neither bought drugs from him nor transferred money to him.

After the ED probe, Tanish spoke to the media and said that he made his debut as a child artist and earned a name for himself over the years. “Allegations against me are baseless. When I grew up in the industry, there was never a thought of me getting involved in drug scandals,” said Tanish.

He further stated that the ED had asked bank statements related to his account and all the documents were examined by the ED. “I provided whatever documents they asked me to get and the ED did not ask me to appear again. But in case they summon me, I will definitely make it,” summed up Tanish.

After Tanish, the ED is going to probe hero Tarun. He was asked to appear before the ED on 22nd September.
