Director Ajay Bhupathi is dman sure about delivering a huge blockbuster with his second film. Starring Sharwanand and Siddharth, the intense love and action entertainer will be hitting the screens in a couple of days. Here are the excerpts from interview with Ajay Bhupathi.
Were you particular about casting Aditi Rao Hydari for Maha character?
I also considered Samantha and few other actors. Samantha too loved the script. Fortunately, Aditi who was the original choice gave her nod.
You got many offers post RX 100. Why did you want to make Maha Samudram with 2 heroes?
It’s difficult to do films with 2 heroes. There is special happiness for audience when watching 2 heroes. I penned the storyline, before RX 100. It’s completely a fictional story.
What’s your special interest in making films based on female characters?
I believe that films that are based on female characters will have huge impact on audience. K Balachander used to make such films.
Did you have any names, when you penned the script?
I didn’t have any names when I penned story. Few refused, as they wanted to do solo hero films only.
Did you change script for heroes?
I didn’t make much changes in the script. But character behavior changed according to heroes.
What message does the film give on friendship?
The film tells that one need to be there for their friend till the end, at any circumstances.
How would be characters in your film?
Every character in my film will have a starting and end. I usually don’t write unnecessary characters. Maha Samudram came out well, thanks to the support of Sharwa and Siddu. You won’t see actors; you will only see characters.
Why did you release 2 trailers? Why didn’t you reveal story with these trailers?
We had released two trailers for RX 100 as well. It’s my style of promoting my films. We didn’t want to disclose main plotline through the trailers.
Why did you want to cast lover boy Siddharth for a mass role?
You won’t find any difference, if Siddu does another lover boy kind of role. I gave few references on his look and he along with his makeup man finalized a completely new look for that role.
How will be Sharwanand’s character in the film?
I took utmost care on Sharwanand’s character from first to end frame. You will definitely love Sharwa’s character, that’s the impact he created with his performance.
How far Chaitan Bharadwaj’s music will be advantageous for the film?
Chaitan Bharadwaj gave wonderful music for RX 100. He knows my mentality. He is my main pillar. He gave wonderful and unique BGM for Maha Samudram.
The film has ocean backdrop. Do you have plans of releasing it in Tamil?
RX 100 is a Pan India subject. It is being remade in several languages. We are dubbing Maha in Tamil. The film may be remade in other languages.
Why did you refuse offers in other languages, after the success of RX 100?
Tollywood is one of the biggest industries. I got many offers, after RX 100. But I didn’t want to go anywhere.
Do you have plans of making content for OTT?
I got Netflix offer. It’s an anthology. OTTs give scope to try different ideas.
What’s your dream project?
Becoming a director itself is a dream come true for me. I don’t feel tension, ahead of my film’s release.
