Manchu Vishnu is the new President of the Movie Artists Association (MAA). After his victory, he immediately set up a Women Empowerment and Grievance Cell. Now, he seems to be ready with another aspect of his agenda. It is to have control over the misleading and offensive thumbnails of the Youtube channels.
Youtube channels in the Telugu states that regularly cover film updates compete among themselves to attract audiences with catchy and click-bait titles and thumbnails. Most of these channels carry fake news and often times cook their own stories to gain views and likes. We have seen such instances many times in the past.
Film Critics Association felicitated Manchu Vishnu recently and during the event, Manchu Vishnu revealed that he is planning to appoint a separate legal cell to address the issues of the Youtube channels. Vishnu is serious about these channels having misleading and objectionable thumbnails.
“We will not tolerate if the Youtube channels carry misleading thumbnails to gain views. Some channels are targeting heroines in the movie industry. We should respect our heroines. By a special legal cell, under MAA, we will find a solution for this,” said Manchu Vishnu, adding that it is also one of the key elements of his agenda.
We have recently seen Samantha approaching a court in Hyderabad demanding action against three Youtube channels that reported fake news about her.
We have to see if Manchu Vishnu implement his strategy to put an end to the never-ending issue of Youtube channels in the film industry.
