Kannada Powerstar Puneeth Rajkumar breathed his last this morning in Bangalore. The actor suffered a massive heart attack and was admitted to the hospital. However, Puneeth failed to respond to the treatment.
The initial reports revealed that Puneeth suffered a heart attack while he was working out at the gym on October 29. He was rushed to Vikram Hospital immediately. The hospital confirmed that Puneeth Rajkumar was admitted after suffering chest pain at 11.30 am. A special team of doctors tried their best to treat him. But, his condition was reportedly bad when he was bought to the hospital.
Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj S Bommai was present at the hospital to check on the actor. The government of Karnataka declared a high alert in Bangalore city. All the major routes leading towards the hospital are filled with police officials. The government also declared the closure of cinema halls.
A few hours ago, Puneeth took to his Twitter profile to convey his best wishes to team Bajrangi 2. Puneeth was last seen in Yuvarathnaa, directed by Santhosh Ananddram. He recently completed the shooting for Chethan Kumar’s James, alongside Priya Anand. The actor also announced a new film with Lucia director Pavan Kumar, in the production of Hombale Films.
The actor was fondly called Appu by his fans. In a career spanning two decades, he delivered multiple blockbusters in Kannada Cinema. A star who is always grounded is gone too soon.
