Nepotism Exists in Film Industry – Renu Desai

Amidst growing debate on nepotism in the film industry and the industry is almost divided into two groups – pro and anti, the latest to respond on the burning issue is actress, director and former wife of Pawan Kalyan, Renu Desai. Renu Desai has admitted that nepotism exists in the film industry. She quickly added that it is not just limited to the film industry, but she said it exists in all the sectors. Renu Desai said nepotism is omnipresent.

In an instagram live with her followers and fans recently, Renu Desai has patiently answered to all the questions posed by the netizens. Talking about Sushant’s suicide, Renu said, “Sushant Singh Rajput is an extremely talented actor yet a sensitive person. He had success, and he had become a star in the industry.”

And the topic seeped into nepotism. Renu said, “Everybody is saying that Sushanth died because of nepotism. In my view, nepotism doesn’t only exist in the film industry; it is actually omnipresent in each and every sphere of work life. There is no point in being blind to it. When you’re not from a film family, just being talented is not enough. One should have a lot of inner strength and patience along with the talent. That is what takes you through to every day in your life. Try to have gratitude for life. Life is not like a cup of tea. Don’t worry about that. Just be happy.”

Renu Desai has recently done an ad for an entertainment channel for which she had dubbed in her own voice. Renu said the shooting experience was different and new in her long career as the shoot was done with a lot of precautions. She said even dubbing was done with a lot of care. She said the director had wanted her own voice for the dubbing.

Talking about her latest finding, Renu Desai said she is not a web-series person and she is more of a movie person. “I’d like to watch movies compared to web series,” shared Renu. Renu also talked about her kids Aadya and Akira.
