Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Akhanda continues its roar at the box office and folks who are enjoying the background score of Thaman are paying a second visit to theatres to make the film a super hit of epic proportions.
Talking about the same, Thaman revealed how much care he took and what it consumed to bring such terrific and thumping music.
After watching the first-ever cut of Akhanda’s interval block, talented composer Thaman is said to have revealed to director Boyapati Sreenu and the producer of the film Ravinder Reddy about the budget they should invest to get the music right for that part. Thaman is said to have quoted them around 20-30 lakhs for just completing that 10 minutes episode. But why is such a huge investment required?
Apparently, Thaman brought the original Chenda instruments from Kerala and the professionals who play it. The BGM of Akhanda interval block was created by them and then he got specialist sound mixing engineer Shadab Rayeen flown to Hyderabad from Mumbai to get the sound mixing done.
Also, the composer has found a different conch (Sankham) some random stranger is playing at Ramoji Film City and created music with it as well. And with all the additional vocals and other orchestration, the sequence turned out to be a terrific one as it marks the entry of the Akhanda character into the movie.
Guess what, Thaman himself wasn’t satisfied with the first 3-4 versions of the music he created for the interval sequence and then created another final version which really surprised and impressed Boyapati Sreenu big time. Surely all the efforts of Thaman paid off in theatres, isn’t it?
