Bheemla Stepped Back, But Bangarraju Won’t?

The film producers guild talked it out yesterday to decide on what films release this Sankranthi and which have to go for a later date. Bheemla Nayak gave up the date to avoid a theater clash with RRR and Radhe Shyam, while Sarkaru Vaari paata, Acharya, and others are coming at a later point anyway.

Amid this Sankranthi release dilemma and clarity, one movie that is not in discussion at all was Nagarjuna’s Bangarraju. Nagarjuna’s Bangarraju, which is a sequel to his Soggade Chinni Nayana, is gearing up to release on January 15. One wonders why the producers guild discussed a movie like Sarkaru Vaari Paata that is coming on April 1, but not about Bangarraju which is heading for a date just after Radhe Shyam’s outing.

The reason for that is said to be Nagarjuna’s confidence and decision regarding the film. If Bangarraju hits the screens as per plan on January 15, it will be eight days after RRR release and one day after Radhe Shyam. Nagarjuna seems to be very confident in grabbing enough theaters for Bangarraju. The official confirmation and announcement poster about the same is expected to come out in a few hours.

Well, there is a good enough reason for Nagarjuna’s confidence to not back off between giant releases. Bangarraju might be anticipating a good footfall from family audiences along with the overflows from RRR and Radhe Shyam theaters. Not just that, but Bangarraju bags a lot of advantage of one of the two biggies garners an average talk. Bangarraju is pinning hopes that at least the second week will give a good run if at all the first week does not help.

If we have to recall, Nag’s Soggade Chinni Nayana also had a tough competition back then. Locking horns with NTR’s Nannaku Prematho, Dictator, and Express Raja, Nagarajuna’s Bangarraju emerged as a winner big time. Now that Bangarraju is more colorful with Naga Chaitanya and Krithi Shetty, we have to see how the magic of Bangarraju works at the box office.
