Tamil Hero Simbu Honoured With Doctorate

Hero Simbu has been conferred with a Doctorate at Vels University for his contribution towards the field of Cinema. The doctorate ceremony was held in Chennai and pictures of the event were shared by Simbu himself on social media.

“Thanking all the committee members of Vels University & @IshariKGanesh for bestowing the Honorary Doctorate upon me. I dedicate this huge honour to Tamil cinema, my Appa & Amma! Cinema happened to me because of them! Finally – my fans, #NeengailaamaNaanilla. Nandri Iraiva!,” wrote Simbu.

The 38 year old received such a big honour at a very young age but Simbu’s talent is unparalleled. He began as a child artist and turned into a full-fledged hero before he turned 20. At 21, Simbu penned the ‘Manmadhan’ script and also supervised the direction of the film. ‘Manmadhan’ was one of the biggest blockbusters then.

But in recent years Simbu’s career dipped with multiple reasons. He returned with ‘Eeswaran’ and recently he scored a hit with ‘Maanadu.’ Simbu’s upcoming film is ‘Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu’ which is a Gautham Menon’s directorial.
