DJ Tillu is one of the upcoming films in Telugu. Siddhu Jonnalagadda and Neha Shetty played the lead roles in the film. During the film’s trailer event, a senior journalist posed a very uncomfortable and insensitive question to Siddhu and the actor decided to avoid it. However, he did not give any explanation or share his views on the same. Today, taking to his Twitter profile, Siddhu has made his mind clear and also bought up a very important discussion that everyone should ‘Respect Actors’.

“Something deeply hurt me, and I want to address that,” said Siddhu in his open letter, and added, “A very demeaning question (unintentional I would like to believe) was thrown at me during the theatrical trailer launch of my new film Dj Tillu. A lot of people have asked me the reason behind the nature of my response. I simply chose to reject that question in a very calm and composed manner. I wasn’t going to lose my temper. I chose restraint. I definitely wasn’t going to dignify the question with an answer. Period.”

Siddhu goes on to explain how the incident speaks volumes about the impression people have towards actors. “Now, this also speaks volumes about the impression a few have towards actors. Actors work really hard when they shoot intimate scenes, the hardest in fact. Especially for women, there are about a hundred people on set while they are kissing their co-star, sometimes with a technician holding a light right in their face. This takes a lot of courage. I will take the liberty of saying this on behalf of all the actors we deserve to be respected for being that courageous and to not be spoken to in a discourteous manner. We tell stories, we entertain and we do not expect to be judged in our real lives based on what we do.” he wrote.

“I genuinely request everyone to rest this here, because I want my film to be promoted for the content, the laughter it is spreading and for the madness the trailer has created. For the right reasons. DJ Tillu is coming soon in a theatre near you, to entertain, make u laugh, cry and take you through a roller coaster of emotions. See u soon!” he concluded.

The journalist asked Siddhu if he explored the moles on the heroine’s body in real life and to the same, the actress later reacted on Twitter. “This question was very unfortunate at the trailer launch today. But I must go on to add that it simply simplifies the respect he has for himself and for the women force around him at his work place and at home.” she wrote.

The senior journalist initially defended his question but later tendered a public apology.

Directed by Vimal Krishna, DJ Tillu is releasing on February 11th.
