RRR In North: Hope For The Best!

RRR is all set for a grand release on March 25. This SS Rajamouli directorial film features Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles. As this is Rajamouli’s immediate film after India’s biggest hit Baahubali 2, there are many expectations on it.

But the question is whether RRR can replicate Baahubali’s success in North India. Baahubali had a universal appeal. The first part was a good hit in North India. The ending of the first part raised anticipation in the second part. Thus, Baahubali 2 garnered humongous openings in North India.

RRR is a historic fiction based on the Telugu freedom fighters Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem. Most of the North Indians are unaware of these legends. Thus, the film needs to have a universal appeal to attract Hindi audiences.

Generally, Rajamouli’s films have a universal appeal and that is the reason why many of his movies get remade in other languages and end up successful there as well. So, he might have included many elements in the film that Hindi audiences get connected with.

On top of that, Rajamouli, Charan and NTR are extensively promoting the film across North Indian cities like Delhi, Amritsar, Surat, Kolkata and Varanasi for the last few days. This helps the film is generating buzz in the region. The team has also promoted the film in a popular Hindi TV show, The Kapil Sharma Show and a popular Youtube Channel, BB Ki Vines.

All these factors will help RRR in gaining good buzz in North India. So, let’s wait and see if it can replicate Baahubali 2’s success in that region.
