Tamil Movie Lovers Urging For RRR And KGF2

First, it is Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR and now Prashanth Neel’s KGF2, both films have showcased the power of South cinema to the whole of India. While RRR went on to become the highest Day 1 grosser of Bollywood post the pandemic, KGF2 became the highest ever collecting Hindi movie on Day 1. And here is an interesting snippet.

Malayalam cinema is always a superstar on OTT platforms and many of those movies get remade into Telugu and Hindi as well. And then, Telugu films emerged as Pan India movies with the success of the Baahubali franchise and RRR. Then comes KGF2 from the Kannada industry which went on to become the highest grosser of Bollywood with respect to the release day collections. So where is Tamil cinema in this process?

Apparently, Tamil folks are questioning how Tamil movies like Robo used to get called Pan India films back then, but they have lost all the sheen now. Neither of Rajnikanth, Vijay or Ajith’s films are running well in other states, and even Surya lost his fruitful Telugu market as well. And literally, there is no presence of Tamil cinema in Bollywood no matter what as they are making only commercial films with routine setups.

Right now we could see many Tamil fans urging their star heroes and directors on social media to make Tamil cinema proud again. Let’s see what happens.
