Acharya Collects 43+ Cr Share – That’s Not Enough

On one side, these figures are showcasing the stamina of star power, and on the other side, the declining box office footfalls are indicating that the film’s run will be over in a week. And that’s how things are going on around “Acharya”, the first-ever full-length film featuring Megastar Chiru and Ram Charan in the lead roles.

After releasing with high expectations, this Koratala Siva directorial failed to click at the box office and the benefit shows themselves have turned to be hubs for the negative talk to spread. Owing to that, Acharya has collected 36.5+ crores share from the two Telugu states after the end of the first weekend. This is a good figure when considered an ordinary film, but for Chiru-Charan film, this is not good enough.

With Karnataka, USA and rest of India collections added, “Acharya” has collected 43+ crores share from the worldwide box office in the first three days of its run at the box office. While this figure is pretty big for sure, it is not big when compared to the prices at which Acharya theatrical rights are sold. The film should make a whopping 140 crores share to make sure that it will safeguard the investments of all the distributors.

On that note, we could say that Acharya is heading to become a big disaster ever, first in the case of Koratala Siva’s career and a big disaster after a long time post the likes of Mrugaraju in Chiranjeevi’s career.
