‘I’d Think Twice Before Doing Remakes in The Future’

Actress Kiara Advani is only two films old in Telugu and is yet to prove her versatility here in Tollywood. She will next be seen in RC15, however, the actress is quite popular and has a huge lineup of films in Bollywood. Kiara, in one of her recent interviews, said that she will think twice before doing remakes in the future. The actress was seen in remakes earlier such as Kabir Singh.

Kiara now thinks that she should think twice before signing remakes as most of the films are available on OTT platforms for audiences to watch. She was also asked if there will be fewer Hindi remakes of popular South films because the dubbed versions of the originals are doing well already. Kiara said, “I don’t agree with the fact that Bollywood is backing south for content. If a small film, which is like a gem, is made in a certain regional language, it has a potential to reach a wider audience”.

According to the actress, a good regional film can be remade for a larger audience to watch as Hindi is a widely spoken language in our country. While Kiara says she might want to rethink before doing a direct remake of a film, she is open to doing an adaptation instead. She says, “I did Kabir Singh before OTT became very popular. Of course, I’d do Kabir Singh eyes closed even today, but even I’d think twice to do a remake if it is available on an OTT platform, because I feel I can watch it”.

She further said “I am okay if there is an adaptation by making a few changes in the storyline and making it accessible to different audiences. I don’t think Bollywood is backing on South content, I feel it is just about taking a good story to a larger audience.” Currently, Kiara has Bhool Bhulaiya 2 and a couple of more films in Bollywood.
