Megastar Chiranjeevi is currently busy shooting for his next film Godfather. His recent release Acharya failed at the box office. Directed by Koratala Siva, the movie ended up a big disaster, leaving everyone in shock. Ever since the film’s result is out, there are rumors in the film nagar that the distributors are now demanding compensation from the producers. However, one of the film’s distributors penned an open letter to ‘Acharya’, requesting compensation.

Rajgopal Bajaj, the distributor, and exhibitor based in Raichur released the film amidst a huge buzz. But, with the film bombing at the box office, the distributor is left with almost 75 percent losses.

In his open letter to Chiranjeevi, Rajgopal Bajaj revealed, “I am very disappointed that movie is not been running as expected. I booked the movie for our region a year back. Before movie release, I have paid entire amount as agreed. We have paid a heavy premium to the Karthakiye Exhibitors (Sri Warangal Sinnu Garu), Hyderabad thinking movie will receive extra ordinary response from your fans and admirers. Now since the movie didn’t run as per the expectation I have incurred heavy loss in this movie. You are very @vell aware that during covid wave, distributors like us have incurred heavy losses.”

The distributor also added, I wholeheartedly request you to please consider my request to extend compensation to the distributors who are in deep crisis because of this movie. We have recovered till now only 25% of the invested amount. 75% invested capital is wiped out as losses. I have borrowed money from the market and invested in this movie but everything failed and I am into huge debts now.”

Directed by Siva Koratala, Acharya also had Pooja Hegde, Ram Charan, and Sonu Sood in other crucial roles. Matinee Entertainment and Konidela Productions Company produced the film jointly.

Let us see if Chiranjeevi or the makers would come to the rescue of the distributors.
