The Interesting Back Story Of Bimbisara Director

With ‘Bimbisara’ getting blockbuster talk, everywhere the name of director Vashist Mallidi is trending and people are appreciating the debutant for his good work. But then, this is not just the story of a newcomer simply coming here and scoring a blockbuster. There is a big sad struggling story behind him if we have to say.

Actually, Vashisht’s original name is Venu and he’s the son of producer Mallidi Satyanarayana Reddy who made films like Allu Arjun’s Bunny, Raviteja’s Bhageeratha and Vishnu-Vaitla’s Dhee. He happens to be the hero of Razole beauty Anjali’s debut film “Premalekha Rasa” as well. After that, he grabbed a couple of films but nothing worked out and that pushed Venu to try out the directorial line. Changing his name to MVN Reddy he started a film with Nithin, but it got scrapped after the first schedule. Then he moved to Ram Pothineni and that film also got halted.

Later he changed his name to Venu Mallidi and Geetha Arts launched a big visual effects project with him in which Allu Sirish is the hero. After some days of shoot, that film also got shelved. All these happenings took place in and around 2016-17. Three back to back shelvings for a debutant became a trending topic back then.

And now, changing his name to Vashist, finally, he’s able to convince Kalyan Ram and bring out Bimbisara. Surely the film’s blockbuster success has now cemented his position in the film industry and he is very likely to get some terrific offers from big heroes and production houses.
