Nani’s Dasara Did Rs 100 Cr Business Already?

Sometime back there were rumours that Natural Star Nani’s latest movie “Dasara” slipped into some over-budget issues and the producer is unable to pull it off. Later it has come out that they are giving the total project to someone else. But then, Sudhakar Cherukuri rubbished all such talk and the film is produced by himself alone though his recent ventures like Virata Parvam and Ramrao On Duty ended up as flops.

A buzz is now doing rounds that “Dasara” has now finished its business and the producer is not worried about the near ₹50+ crores investment that is being put on the movie though it is being carved by a newcomer director. After the first look and other titbits from the film got released, the film is said to have fetched an amazing OTT deal which is more than ₹30 crores. And then, the film’s other-language rights are said to have made nearly ₹10 crores, while satellite rights fetched another ₹20 crores. That takes the total business to almost ₹60 crores.

While Nani’s Shyam Singha Roy was sold for ₹20+ crore when it comes to theatrical business, his recent outing Ante Sundaraniki made around ₹30 crores. While the box office collections of these two aren’t so impressive when compared to the investments made, distributors and exhibitors are now ready to take this investment to another level for “Dasara” as it happens to be a mass film. In all likelihood, the filmmakers are said to be selling the movie already for around ₹40 crores in Telugu states for theatrical release.

That makes almost ₹100 crores business around Nani’s Dasara and that’s a big thing for a hero like him who is yet to deliver the biggest commercial entertainer.
