Brahmastra Ends At ₹400 Cr; Hit Or Flop?

While the makers of the movie have made many tall claims about the collections of the movie, it looks like “Brahmastra” final figures are not as anticipated. According to trade reports, the Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer which also features Amitab Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan and Nagarjuna along with lady villain Mouni Roy is likely to cause losses for the distributors only.

Trade experts have now revealed that Brahmastra’s run is going to come to an end in almost all the theatres across India with the film collecting nearly ₹300 crores from all the languages in the country. If the collections from Overseas territories are included, the film managed to collect a total of ₹400 crores gross.

Though the film is produced by Disney and Karan Johar together, they are said to have sold the movie to third parties in many areas for a whopping price of ₹300 crores across the world.

That means the film has to collect ₹650+ crores gross to become a no-loss venture. Now that it has collected only a share of ₹185 crores, surely the film is a disaster only if the collections are anything to go by.

Though Ranbir Kapoor has earlier rejected that the film was made with ₹300 crores budget, the film would have easily fetched Disney and Karan nearly ₹400 crores from sales alone.

While Disney might keep the digital streaming rights of the movie, they have sold out satellite rights of all other languages to various other channels apart from Star network.
