Despite a couple of films like Bhool Bhulaiya 2, Bollywood hasn’t seen any star-studded movie doing big at the box office this year. While the likes of The Kashmiri Files stunned the North box office, the success of south movies like Pushpa, Karthikeya 2 and Kantara is a big shocker to them. And they are once again looking at Superstar Akshay Kumar to give them relief.
Last year, when Maharashtra was still implementing the 50% occupancy rule for cinema theatres in the state, Akshay’s Sooryavanshi was released and the film made nearly ₹26+ crores nett on its First Day of release. And now, Akshay is coming up with “Ram Setu” for this Diwali as the movie is set for Oct 25th release. What’s he going to do at the box office with a film that has the happening ‘religious’ touch as well, is something everyone is waiting to see. Jacqueline Fernandez, Nushrat Bharucha, Satya Dev and others appear in crucial role in the movie.
Even Akshay Kumar is not scoring hits this year as most of his films including Bachhan Panday, Prithviraj, Raksha Bandhan and Cutputli have bitten the dust this year already though the last one of them released straight on the OTT. At this time, if the Superstar could turn around the flop streak into a super hit kind, surely “Ram Setu” will be giving some relief to Bollywood. Will that happen? Let’s see!
