Actress Samantha who is out of action for a long time will next be seen in a female-oriented action thriller Yashoda directed by Hareesh Narayan and Hari Shankar. Sivalenka Krishna Prasad produced the movie on Sridevi movies and it is due for release in 3 days on the 11th of this month.
Stakes are high on the movie that has made an amazing pre-release business. Including theatrical and non-theatrical rights, the film’s business has crossed the Rs 50 Cr mark, sources confirm. The Telugu theatrical rights of the movie have been valued at around Rs 9 Cr. While digital rights for all languages are said to have been sold in the range of 24-25 Cr, talks for acquisition of satellite rights for all the languages are ongoing in the range of 12-14 Cr and are close to closure with Hindi already locked for 3.5cr. Overseas rights fetched around 1.5 Cr.
Even if the audio rights of the movie have been sold for 1 Cr, the pre-release business is astonishing. Including the entire theatrical and non-theatrical rights, the pre-release business of Yashoda is upwards of 50cr which is an incredible fear for a female centric thriller.
Samantha is surely a superstar, but the pre-release numbers show her craze. Certainly, there is huge anticipation for the movie as well..
