Silly Fan Wars Are There Even 40 Years Ago

Earlier we have seen how some Telugu fans have started a fan war on the official social media page of Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise, saying that Mahesh Babu is more handsome than him.

Recently we have seen some fans in Bangalore, who supported a particular star hero, have literally chased another fan on the roads after a Twitter fight.

From that nuisance to today’s Global Star fight between Jr NTR and Ram Charan fans, there seems to be no change in the attitude of fans. But are these fights happening because of the arrival of social media? Definitely not.

If we have to look at an example, various fights took place in the history of Telugu cinema between the fans of various top stars. Especially in the vintage era, the fans of Krishna and Sobhan Babu are always at loggerheads.

When the film “Mundadugu” was released in theatres, a film that has first seen the collaboration of Sobhan Babu and Krishna for a multi-starrer, fans are said to have created a huge ruckus in theatres. Some fans used to count the number of shots Sobhan Babu and Krishna had in a particular fight and the ones that got lesser shots used to shout badly against the other star in theatres across Telugu states.

Similarly when the song of Sobhan Babu and Sridevi is coming, then Krishna fans used to walk out. When Krishna and Jayaprada’s song is on the screen, Sobhan Babu fans used to go away from their seats. This all sounds silly, but it happened almost 40 years ago in 1983 when the film was released.

Other day, ace producer Suresh Babu released the ’40 years’ posters of their production ‘Mundadugu’, and along with Paruchuri Brothers, he has confirmed these fan wars. So the ones that are happening regarding RRR credits are not new, though silly.
