National Crush’s career is getting crushed

Rashmika Mandanna is the only heroine in the country who is busy doing significant projects in various film languages like Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. She is fondly called the ‘Nation’s Crush’ by her fans. But she is going through a rough phase without proper hits.

After Pushpa: The Rise, Rashmika came up with a handful of films but failed to create an impact. She scored a flop with Aadavallu Meeku Johaarlu. Later, she was seen in Sita Ramam. Though the film was a hit, the credit went to Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur. Rashmika’s role was just seen as a unique appearance.

Then, she made her Bollywood debut with Amitabh Bachchan’s film Goodbye. This movie was a flop at the box office. This year, she came up with Thalapathy Vijay’s Varisu. Though the film was a hit, Rashmika’s character was unimportant. After that, she came up with her second Hindi film Mission Majnu. This Siddharth Malhotra-starrer flick had a direct digital release on Netflix and got a poor talk from the audience.

Now, Rashmika is pinning all hopes on her subsequent two films, Animal and Pushpa: The Rule. The latter rides high on Allu Arjun’s stardom, which may not greatly help Rashmika.

On the flip side, Animal features Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role, with high expectations around it. This film’s success is highly important for Rashmika to shine in Bollywood. Touted to be a gangster drama, Animal is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. It will hit the screens on August 11, 2023.
