RGV Was My First Oscar -MM Keeravani

In the present scenario, even some actors who have become stars through his films or some of his assistant directors who have turned into cult filmmakers will refuse to acknowledge him because of the kind of insensitive, politically motivated and crass statements he gives, and films he carves. But then, there is MM Keeravani on his side.

We are talking about director Ram Gopal Varma who was once a legend but slowly unwinded his good work with his bad films, words and tweets. However, the director expressed his dead shock as he got literally stunned by Oscar winner composer MM Keeravani’s words. In the latest interview, Keeravani revealed that the Oscar he just took home for Naatu Naatu is his second oscar, as he won the first one in the form of Ram Gopal Varma.

“Almost 51 filmmakers, producers and others rejected my demo cassette and half of the might have thrown my work into the dustbin without even listening to it. But it is Ram Gopal Varma who heard it and gave me my first break Kshana Kshanam. Whether I’m a talented composer or not, as RGV picked me up, many others signed me, thinking that I’m talented because Varma wouldn’t have picked me otherwise. So, he’s my first Oscar” said Keeravani in his interview.

Well, Varma is great at talent-spotting back then, and there is no doubt about it.
