The ‘A’ Story Behind Ravanasura

Raviteja is riding on a success streak from the last two films, Dhamaka and Waltair Veerayya. Gearing up for release in three days, Raviteja is hoping high on Ravanasura.

While all the movies of Raviteja usually make a good watch for families. Irrespective of success and failure, his movies can have the family audience watch them comfortably. The same seems to be not happening with Ravanasura.

The trailer of Ravanasura hints at heavy violence in the film. Ravanasura got an A certificate after censorship and many were wondering if this happened just for the violence. It is learned that the team Ravanasura is heard to be reluctant to go for the censor-suggested cuts and hence the ‘A’.

We all know how big a fan is Sudheer Varma of Hollywood filmmaker Quentin Tarantino. The director made Ravanasura based on a Bengali story but in the style of Quentin Tarantino’s film making. So it obviously has to have some raw scenes, violence, and cussing as well.

When Ravanasura was censored, the board suggested more than 25 excisions in many places, but Sudheer Varma reportedly insisted on keeping them in the movie rather than losing the essence for a ‘U/A’. Also the movie duration will be losing 20 minutes and the flow is believed to be disturbed due to that.

So, that’s the story behind Ravanasura’s A certificate and it has to be seen how this Raviteja movie is going to be.
