Power Glimpse: Only 15% Of Theri?

Other day, the first glimpse of the Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s Ustad Gabbar Singh movie was released. Although it has garnered praise in some circles and created a storm amongst fans, there is concern that its similarities to the Tamil version ‘Theri’ might not be particularly appealing to Telugu audiences due to differences in mindset and nature. Thus, the script may need to be tweaked using a similar approach utilized for Bheemla Nayak – a remake of the 2020 Malayalam film Ayyappanum Koshiyum – in order for it to become a blockbuster.

Sources close to the film made the claim that only 15% of the script consists of content from Theri, with 85% being new and original material. There has been some speculation about whether this is true and if a remake is necessary for Tollywood; the truth can only be seen once it is released. Nevertheless, producers have touted Ustaad Bhagat Singh as a mass entertainer that will explore the strength and stamina of #PSPK to its peak.

Power Star Pawan Kalyan has an impressive filmography that includes 13 remakes from a total of 25 movies. From his debut film in 1996 release ‘Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi’ to the recently upcoming 2024 release scheduled movie ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’. Powerstar’s iconic characters and blockbusters have made his work stand out. While some audiences and critics comment on the high number of remakes in his career, Kalyan has established himself as an actor who can transform stories with his style and performances.
