Adipurush Makers Apologise Over Prabhas’ Dialogue

Adipurush is surrounded by criticism and controversies. From the making to the dialogues, from the looks to the presentation, Adipurush has left some of the audience dissatisfied. One among them is the Nepal government for a particular dialogue of Adipurush.

Objecting to Sita being called the ‘daughter of India’, Nepal’s Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah banned all Indian movies in the city and deployed police forces in the capital to ensure no theatre screens any films made in India. The mayor expressed disappointment with the ‘Janaki is a daughter of India’ dialogue in Adipurush and claimed that Sita was rather born in Nepal.

Now the Adipurush makers apologized for the dialogue and requested the Kathmandu mayor to lift the ban on Indian films. T-Series sent an apology to Kathmandu Mayor saying, ‘At the outset, we would like to apologize if we have hurt the sentiments of the people of Nepal in any way. I was never intentionally or deliberately to cause disharmony for anyone. We request you to view the film in its artistic form and support the intention of reaching out to large audiences to create interest in our history.’

The dialogue comes in the part where Prabhas-portrayed character Raghava says, ‘Aaj mere liye Mat ladna, us din ke liye ladna jab Bharat ki kisi beti par haath dalne se pehle durchari tumhara paurush yaad karke thraa uthega’. The makers also said it has no reference to the birthplace of Sita Mata but refers to, in general, the dignity of all women, particularly the women of ‘Bharat.’

It has to be seen if the controvery takes an end route with the apologies from Adipurush makers.
