Opinion: Except Rajamouli, None Are Changing Format

To become the epitome of Telugu cinema is one thing, and taking the Indian flag to a new pedestal in Hollywood is another one. Legendary director SS Rajamouli did it quite well with “RRR” and he is now getting ready to prepare his next massive strike with Mahesh Babu’s film. Here comes an interesting observation about him.

In recent times we have seen the latest projects of top directors like Sukumar, Trivikram, Koratala Siva, Anil Ravipudi and others, and most of them stick to the same palette in terms of stories. While Sukumar makes class and mass films, he sprinkles intelligence all over them. Trivikram loves to shoot most of the part of his film in a big palatial residence. Anil Ravipudi relies hugely on comedy even in an action movie, while Koratala Siva is always giving messages to society through his films.

The thing is, Rajamouli is the one who is continuously changing the themes and patterns of his films, while he follows the same wow-factor-inducing template. After impressing with Baahubali, he carved RRR which is quite in contrast to his previous epic blockbusters. And Mahesh Babu’s film happens to be an Indiana Jones like adventure.

Many are wondering when Rajamouli could change his story ideas with each movie, and why these other top directors are sticking to the same format.
