Baby: Which Wine? Which Bottle?

Being aggressively promoted by the makers, the small budgeted film “Baby” featuring Anand Devarakonda in the lead is getting huge attention now. Apparently, the couple of songs in the film are superhit that the film got massive publicity even before the real publicity of the film started. As the film is getting ready to hit cinemas this Friday, many are wondering what wonders this small film might do at the box office.

In fact, the trailer of “Baby” got huge appreciation from one section of fans who feel that girls always cheat on boys when it comes to love. Especially for some dialogues where the heroine says that she will show the hero how a girl could hit a boy strongly on the heart, many young lovers and especially jilted lovers got connected. While the triangular story of two boys falling for the same girl, the girl choosing one first and shifting to the other one next, and then ditching them both, is not a new one, it’s the packaging that matters. The film may be an old wine, but should be presented well like a new wine in a shining new bottle, to impress the box office.

But then, with the story being a known one, it’s the screenplay that matters and how engaging each scene turned out to be. These days every filmmaker is claiming that the output has rocked and their film will turn into a blockbuster, like how many young heroes said in recent times about their movies (of which most are below-average products), even Baby director Sai Rajesh also claimed the same. However, they are so confident that premiere shows are on the way, and we have to see if that confidence in the content really holds well in theatres too.

Old wine in a new bottle or new wine in a shining bottle is something ‘Baby’ should prove, and if it happens, there will be no looking back for director Sai Rajesh as well as the lead actors of the film.
