Puri Leaves Mani Sharma?, But Not Mumbai!

Fans of director Puri Jagannath were delighted to hear the news of his collaboration with actor Ram Pothineni for the upcoming film ‘Double iSmart.’ However, there are concerns among Puri’s fans regarding two key aspects of the film: the music and the backdrop.

In Tollywood, the combination of Puri Jagannath and music composer Mani Sharma has been highly successful, with their albums receiving immense praise from listeners. Mani Sharma made a remarkable comeback with the film ‘Smart Shankar,’ providing an elevating score and soulful songs.

Naturally, fans were expecting Mani Sharma to once again compose the music for the highly anticipated sequel, ‘Double iSmart.’ However, it has been revealed that Mani Sharma will not be scoring the music for this film. Following the success of ‘Smart Shankar,’ Mani Sharma received multiple film offers, including the opportunity to work on Chiranjeevi’s ‘Acharya.’ Due to these commitments, the collaboration between Puri and Mani did not materialize for ‘Double iSmart.’

Puri and Mani Sharma seem to have faced differences after ‘Smart Shankar,’ leading Puri to consider another music director for ‘Double iSmart.’ This decision comes with a significant risk, as matching the success of Mani Sharma’s remarkable album for ‘Smart Shankar’ is no easy task.

Another concern among fans is the film’s backdrop. In Puri Jagannath’s earlier films like ‘Andhrawala’ and ‘Businessman,’ he showcased a special affinity for the Mumbai backdrop. Even his last film, ‘Liger,’ was set in Mumbai and extensively shot there. However, apart from ‘Businessman,’ the Mumbai backdrop did not yield favorable results for his films.

Despite the backlash and disappointing outcome of ‘Liger,’ Puri has decided to continue the trend with his new film, ‘Double iSmart,’ by launching and commencing the shoot in Mumbai. It is expected that a significant portion of the film will be shot in Mumbai.

Only time will tell whether Puri Jagannath can achieve better results with ‘Double iSmart’ or if the Mumbai connection will bring about similar challenges as seen with ‘Liger.’ It is crucial for Puri to strike the right balance and deliver a compelling film that captivates both critics and audiences alike.
