OMG2 Trailer: Satirical Comedy With Serious Topic

The trailer of Akshay Kumar’s most-awaited OMG2 has been unveiled. The film is sequel to Akshay’s Oh My God which had him along with Paresh Rawal. Directed by Amit Rai, the film has Pankaj Tripathi in the lead role and has Yami Gautam playing a crucial role. Let’s check out the trailer review.

What is it about?

OMG2 revolves around a father Kanthi Sharan Mudgal (Pankaj Tripathi) struggling to save his son’s education. Kanthi’s son Vivek is expelled from school for an indecent act. Father wants to secure son Vivek’s education. He prays to Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva instructs Nandi to send his messenger (Shiv-Gan) to save his devotee Kanti from a problem. Things take an interesting turn when Kanthi Sharan files a case in court against himself. He becomes both the complainant and defendant.Yami Gautam is the lawyer who confronts Kanti and questions him for defending his son’s vulgar act. She asks why he is fighting against school instead of filing a case against the education system. Akshay Kumar guides Kanthi throughout the process. Will Kanthi win the case and secure his son’s education? This forms the crux of the story.

Analysis

The trailer is interesting and intriguing. It touches upon some sensible points. The trailer also stresses the Sanatan Dharma of Hindus and raises some poignant questions. It gives insights into Dharma. These raise a lot of curiosity on the film. It has a treatment of satirical comedy yet it banks upon serious issues. This is where director Amit Rai scores brownie points. It appears that the film revolves around sex-education. However, there is no official confirmation as the makers play it subtly. The dialogues are interesting too and Background music lives up to the visuals. OMG2 belongs to the school of Aamir Khan’s PK, but touching upon different topic. Overall, the trailer of OMG2 is promising and raises expectations. The film is hitting the theatres world-wide on Aug 11.
