Can Ram Overcome Balayya’s Shadow?

The moment we see the trailers of a few films, surely it gives us a feeling that there is nothing but routine. For reasons unknown, blockbuster director Boyapati Sreenu keeps worrying the audience with his story choices, if he is doing a movie with any hero other than the Nandamuri Nata Simham. Here goes a talk now.

Right after Simha, Boyapati Sreenu delivered something like “Dammu” with NTR. After Legend, he carved out “Sarrainodu” but then movies like Ram Charan’s Vinaya Vidheya Rama and Bellamkonda Sreenu’s Jaya Janaki Nayaka have shocked the viewers. Then came Akhanda with Balayya, and that is now putting a huge spotlight on Ram’s Skanda.

With the combination of Boyapati and Balayya creating tremors at the box office, surely any other hero is suffering that expectations-block created by the former duo. It looks like even Ram Pothineni is going through that and he has to prove a lot if he has to score a blockbuster. Only Allu Arjun has successfully used Boyapati and came up with something like Sarrainodu, without getting engulfed by Boyapati-Balayya’s shadow.

In both the films Akhanda and Sarrainodu, the characterization of the hero is more than loud and that helped those movies succeed. In Akhanda, Aghora character erupted beyond expectations, and in Sarrainodu we have Allu Arjun’s dialogue delivery style and body language doing the needful. What about Ram’s Skanda then? Only if Ram’s characterisation is something interesting unlike shown in the trailer which sounds routine, the hero will be able to successfully deliver things.
