A non-bailable warrant has been issued against RK Selvamani, the husband of AP Tourism Minister Roja. This is in connection with a defamation case filed against him. As RK Selvamani did not attend the court’s hearing, the Chennai George Town court has issued NBW against Selvamani.
Going into details, film financier Mukanchand Bothra was arrested in 2006 in another case. In a TV interview, RK Selvamani expressed he faced trouble due to financier Mukanchand. Mukanchand has filed defamation against Selvamani alleging that his reputation was tarnished due to his statement on TV. While Mukanchand has passed away, his son Gagan Bothra, who has the Power of Attorney, is continuing the legal battle.
As RK Selvamani skipped the court hearing on Monday i.e 28th Aug, 2023, the court issued NBW against Selvamani. RK Selvamani’s version is yet to be known. More details are awaited. Minister Roja hasn’t responded to these developments. Meanwhile, Roja took potshots at former CM Chandrababu Naidu, his son Nara Lokesh and Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan in Nagari Assembly constituency during CM YS Jagan’s visit to issue Jagananna Vidya Deevena.
