With Mahesh Babu’s Dookudu, he delivered an industry hit at that time and leapfrogged into the top tier of directors. Unfortunately, his success graph started declining after Dookudu. While NTR’s Baadshah ended as an average grosser, his subsequent attempts with Aagadu, Bruce Lee, Mister, and Amar Akbar Anthony tanked heavily at the box office, leaving his career in dire straits. He is now struggling to find opportunities because he lost his Midas touch with his recent films. Moreover, he was also entangled in some controversies because of his differences with his wife.
After a five-year hiatus, Srinu Vaitla is now back with a new project starring Gopichand in the lead role. This might be one final opportunity for the director to stay familiar with the audience. The outcome of this project at the box office will have a final say on his career.
Tentatively titled Gopichand32, the film was launched earlier today in Hyderabad. It is touted to be a full-length entertainer that will have all commercial ingredients. The majority of the shoot will take place in different foreign locations and the makers are planning to infuse a hefty budget for this film. Chitralayam Studios will bankroll it.
Gopichand is currently busy shooting for his upcoming cop drama Bhimaa. After wrapping up this film, he will commence work on Srinu Vaitla’s film.
