First Time Director Responds On Brahmotsavam Disaster

Director Srikanth Addala faced a significant setback in his career with ‘Brahmotsavam,’ which turned out to be one of the worst disasters in Mahesh Babu’s career.

Following the success of ‘Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu,’ Addala had high hopes for ‘Brahmotsavam.’ However, the film’s reception was far from positive, with fans expressing disappointment. The excessive drama and the film’s execution did not resonate with the audience.

After ‘Brahmotsavam,’ Addala remained out of the spotlight for several years until producer Suresh Babu invited him to work on ‘Narappa.’ During this time, Addala rarely discussed ‘Brahmotsavam’ or participated in its promotions, leaving the film in the past.

However, at the trailer launch event for ‘Pedakapu 1,’ Srikanth Addala opened up about his experiences. Responding to questions from the media about Brahmotsavam Disaster, he explained that success and failure in the film industry are not always under one’s control. He shared that during his time pursuing a Ph.D. at IIT, he aimed to make films that carried positive messages, hence he deviated from the commercial formula.

‘Pedakapu 1’ represents a new direction for Addala, and the film’s action sequences and intense drama have surprised audiences. The movie also marks a new challenge for Addala as an actor. While expectations may not be sky-high for ‘Pedakapu 1,’ set to release on September 29, the team is working on ramping up promotions and securing a good opening. With a strong cast and growing competition in the industry, Srikanth Addala is determined to make a successful comeback with this venture.”
