Boyapati’s next with Allu Arjun or Suriya ?

Tollywood action entertainers specialist director Boyapati Srinu has a reputation for giving image makeovers to actors by presenting them in never-before-seen mass roles. He is one of the fewest directors in the country who never tried any other genre except masala entertainers throughout his career. Though some of his attempts backfired, he commands a solid track record with a bunch of blockbuster hits in his kitty.

Having scored the biggest hit of his career with Balakrishna’s Akhanda, Boyapati is now coming up with another mass fare in the form of Skanda. The Ram Pothineni starrer is slated for release towards the end of this month. Meanwhile, speculations are rife in Telugu media about his next project.

During the pre-release event of Skanda, Boyapati himself announced that he would be working on Akhanda 2 with Balakrishna next year. There is also some buzz that Boyapati is planning to reunite with Allu Arjun for the second time after previously working for Sarrainodu.

But, it appears like Akhanda 2 will take more time to materialize because of Balakrishna’s busy commitments and the impending assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh. Also, Allu Arjun might not be able to allot dates in the next couple of years because he has already lined up films with Trivikram Srinivas, Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Atlee.

So, it is reliably heard that Boyapati will next direct Tamil actor Suriya in an out-and-out commercial potboiler. The news about Boyapati – Suriya film has been making rounds for quite some time now. Sources revealed that Suriya has green-signalled the script narrated by the Simha and Legend director.

Suriya, who is currently busy wrapping up his maiden pan-India film Kanguva, has already signed films with Sudha Kongara, Lokesh Kanagaraj and Vetrimaan. It looks like he wants to complete Boyapati Srinu’s movie first and then focus on other projects.
