Kangana Ranaut regrets declining ‘Pokiri’

Kangana Ranaut has undoubtedly risen to become one of the most prominent actresses in India, with a popularity and stature that rivals male superstars. She also commands a high remuneration for her work and has actively led a movement against Bollywood nepotism. Now, she is busy with the promotions of her next film, Chandramukhi 2.

During the promotions, Kangana once again discussed letting go of the opportunity to work with Superstar Mahesh Babu in Pokiri, directed by Puri Jagannath. Kangana has revealed this multiple times, but this time, she agreed that she still regrets not doing the film.

“Puri sir is a very nice person, and it is, in fact, him who spotted a talent in me and predicted that I would become a big star. Fortunately or unfortunately, the makers of Pokiri and Gangster wanted October dates of mine in 2005. I opted for Gangster and had to let go of Pokiri. But I regret not doing the film,” revealed Kangana.

‘Gangster’ was directed by Anurag Basu and featured Emraan Hashmi in the lead role. Subsequently, Ileana D’Cruz took on the leading lady’s role in Pokiri, and the rest, as they say, is history.`
