Controversial Director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s latest film, “The Vaccine War,” was released in theatres yesterday. With the director’s last film, “The Kashmir Files” performing well at the box office, everyone expected a big opening for the film. But, it faced challenges in its initial box office performance. As per the trade reports, the film managed to collect 1.3 Cr gross at the box office.
Prior to the film’s release, Vivek Agnihotri dismissed concerns about competition with Prabhas’ “Salaar,” claiming that his previous film, “The Kashmir Files,” had outperformed Prabhas’ “Radhe Shyam.”
However, “Salaar” was postponed, and “The Vaccine War,” despite positive reviews, failed to make a noise at the box office.
“The Vaccine War” revolved around the challenges faced in the making of Covaxin. The film features a stellar cast, including Nana Patekar, Pallavi Joshi, Raima Sen, Sapthami Gowda, and Anupam Kher, with supporting roles played by Girija Oak, Nivedita Bhattacharya, and Mohan Kapur.
