These Sequels To End Up Just As Announcements?

It has become the newest wrinkle in the film industry to announce a sequel of that film at the climax. The big-ticket films with credible directors have come up with sequels in recent times. But there are other films that announce a sequel but they all end up just as an announcement.

There are tens of films that announced a sequel during the making or the release, but not a word about it later. The reason is that their first part ended up as a colossal failure. In the recent films, Raviteja’s Ramarao On Duty announced a part 2 and there is no word about the disaster film’s sequel later.

In the same path, last month’s releases Boyapati’s Skanda and Srikanth Addala’s Pedakapu proudly announced the sequels. Pedakapu director Srikanth Addala even expressed his plans to make two more parts. But neither Skanda nor Pedakapu is not making any noise about the sequels, because both the movies failed to perform great at the box office.

The midrange movies like Skanda and Pedakapu had to become blockbusters if the sequels were to materialize. Now that Skanda is heading towards bagging losses producer is heard to be not in the mood to produce another movie. On the other side, the Pedakapu producer also suffered losses and the next part is not likely to happen.

The directors of recent hits like Virupaksha and Bimbisara announced ‘Part 2’ only after learning that they scored a big success. It has to be seen more directors follow this idea instead of just announcing the next part and letting it become a joke.
