Media Never Knows True Numbers, We Won’t Tell Truth

Recently when a media person quizzed hero Nani, saying that his Jersey didn’t work out at the box office despite getting positive reviews and blockbuster status, the hero shot back at him asking how the journalist in question knows about the loss. At the same time, ‘Jersey’ producer also clarified through Twitter that their film is a profitable one. And here comes Naga Vamsi’s direct clarity over the same.

“Apparently the commercial success of a film is never known to anyone except the producer. Whatever box office numbers the media knows through their sources is just speculation. Original figures will not be known to any media person as we won’t tell the truth. Why would we put our business on the roads by letting them know the real BO figures?” questions Vamsi, in this context. But then, he also added that there is no proven or existing mechanism here to verify the authenticity of the box office numbers. “Even if I lose, none gives me a penny, even if get a profit, I won’t give it to any” he added.

At the same time, he advised media folks to not make fun of heroes at Q&A sessions. “When a hero is sitting in front of you, why do you want to discuss about film business?”, he mocked.
