Actor Chandra Mohan Passes Away!

Veteran actor Mallampalli Chandra Mohan passed away today. He was 82 years old. He breathed his last today morning at 9.45 am at a private hospital in Jubilee Hills. Chandra Mohan was being treated for his heart-related ailments. He was an award-winning actor who won several Nandi awards. Started his career in 1966 with Rangula Ratnam, there was no looking back for him. He acted with actresses like Sridevi, Jayaprada, Jayasudha.

Chandra Mohan is survived by wife Jalandhara and two daughters. He is the cousin of veteran filmmaker K Viswanath. Chandra Mohan’s final rites will be performed on Monday i.e. 13th November. Tollywood is mourning the sudden passing away of versatile actor.

Born on 23 May 1943, Chandra Mohan’s original name was Chandrasekhara Rao Mallampalli. He was born in Pamidimukkula village in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh.

Chandra Mohan won the Filmfare Best Actor Award (1979) for his performance in ‘Padaharella Vayasu’. He won the Nandi Award for Chandamama Raave in 1987. He also won another Nandi Award as supporting actor for the film Athanokkade. As a character artist, he acted in several films. He acted as the hero’s father in the 7/G Brindavan Colony. Chandramohan’s last film was Oxygen.
