Back Story of ‘Machine Gun’ in Animal

‘Animal’ has secured a spot in the list of the 10 highest-grossing films at the Indian box office, crossing the Rs. 100 Crore mark. The film has achieved significant success, accumulating a total of Rs 800+ crore worldwide.

One of the memorable scenes in the movie features Ranbir using a ‘machine gun,’ which has captivated the audience’s attention. There has been speculation about whether the machine gun is real or a product of visual effects (VFX).

However, the production unit has clarified that it is indeed a real machine gun.

Production designer Suresh Selvarajan explained that the machine gun was crafted from steel and required five months for its creation. Approximately a hundred people were involved in the manufacturing process, and it consumed 500 kg of steel.

Suresh shared that, during the creation of the gun, they didn’t anticipate that the scene involving it would leave such a lasting impression on the audience. The design of the machine gun was conceptualized based on the ideas of the film’s director, Sandeep.

The production team meticulously crafted the machine gun, ensuring an innovative design. The attention to detail and dedication in the construction of the machine gun contributed to the authenticity and impact of the scene in the movie.
