Weekend BO: Re-Releases Dominating Small Films This Week

Tollywood Box Office: Slipped Into Slow Pace

Even though the Summer holidays are here, there are no big releases this week as the scorching sun, IPL and election schedules in Telugu states have scared big film producers big time, that they don’t dare to release a movie. However, as usual, whenever there is a window, small films try to capture that space. Here’s an interesting snippet.

The Telugu box office this week is a battlefield where seasoned warriors are clashing with fresh recruits. Two re-released films, “Jersey” and “Happy Days,” have stormed back into theatres, their familiar faces acting like potent nostalgia grenades, pulling audiences in with the promise of cherished memories. Meanwhile, five new releases – “Tenant,” “Parijatha Parvam,” “Market Mahalakshmi,” “Theppa Samudram,” and “Maaranaayudham” – are vying for attention, hoping to carve their space in the ever-competitive landscape. Needless to say, Nani and Sekhar Kammula’s films are emerging as front runners in A centres if the ticket bookings are anything to go by.

On the other hand, Satyam Rajesh is running high with the success of Polimera 2 and is hoping that Tenant will help solidify his presence as a lead actor. At the same time, the YouTube series ’30 Weds 21′ fame is hoping that he will make it big with Parijatha Parvam while his previous outing Kheeda Cola hasn’t done much despite being a Tarun Bhaskar film. Let’s see what happens.
