In yet another example of small films making a big impact at the box office, the recently released youthful nostalgic drama, Little Hearts, is impressing movie lovers with record collections. The film has YouTube star Mouli and Shivani Nagaram playing the main leads.
A lot was going in Little Hearts’ favour ahead of its release. Mouli is returning after the success of his debut series, 90’s – A Middle Class Biopic. Little Hearts also has the backing of 90’s – Middle Class Biopic’s director Aditya Hasan and ETV Win as its producers. The noted producer Bunny Vas acquiring the theatrical rights also made everyone take notice of Little Hearts.
Mouli, known for his tongue-in-cheek humorous videos, made Little Hearts attract the attention of the social media youths with funny and relatable promotional videos before the film’s release. Even the film’s theatrical trailer made a good buzz prior to the film’s release.
The positive buzz was only amplified by the good word-of-mouth talk and encouraging reviews, giving the film a big push on social media. The film is said to have reached its break-even target within just two days of its release. Leaving the trade in shock, Little Hearts has even braved Anushka’s Ghaati and minted close to Rs 4.25 crores at the box office.
