Kalki 2898 AD is a super hit film across the globe, and the makers were supposed to kick off the sequel by now. However, multiple delays, including the team’s breakup with Deepika Padukone, are hampering the film’s progress. Meanwhile, director Nag Ashwin plans to shift his focus sometime away from this project.
If the reports in the Bollywood media are believed to be true, Nag Ashwin wants to revive his women-centric film that he was planning some time back. Nag Ashwin wanted to do a female-oriented project with Alia Bhatt, to which she also agreed. However, the prior commitments of Alia resulted in a long waiting period of Nag Ashwin because of which he is looking at the alternate options like Sai Pallavi.
Reportedly, Nag Ashwin wants to proceed further with the film and cast Sai Pallavi in the leading lady role. Sai Pallavi is a great performer who enjoys a big market across the nation. She is also doing Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, currently in Hindi, and would be free for some time before she joins the team for the sequel. Nag Ashwin wants to use this time to make the film. The talks are reportedly in progress, and more details are expected to be out soon. Official confirmation about this collaboration is still awaited.
