Anurag Kashyap to Do Back-to-Back Telugu Films?

The boundaries between film industries in India are slowly fading. Actors, directors, and technicians are now working across languages more than ever. Bollywood stars in particular are finding strong roles in South Indian films.

Anurag Kashyap, one of Hindi cinema’s well-known filmmakers and actors, is now following the same path. Known for his outspoken views on the kind of films being made in Bollywood, Kashyap has often been critical of the industry. At the same time, he’s been expanding his presence as an actor in the South.

He appeared in a few Tamil films recently, and his role in Vijay Sethupathi’s Maharaja earned him good recognition from southern audiences. Now, he is stepping into Telugu cinema. Kashyap will be seen in Dacoit, starring Adivi Sesh. He plays the role of Inspector Swamy in the film.

Dacoit was initially scheduled for a Christmas 2025 release but has been postponed to the first half of 2026 after Sesh suffered an injury. The film is expected to resume production once he recovers.

Meanwhile, new reports suggest that Anurag Kashyap has signed another Telugu project. He is said to be playing a key role in Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film, directed by Bobby Kolli.

The project is in the pre-production stage and is expected to go on floors by the end of this year. Tamil actor Karthi is also reportedly in talks for an important role in the film.

With back-to-back projects in Telugu, Kashyap seems to be making steady inroads into the industry. If his upcoming films and roles connect with the audience, he could soon become a familiar face in Telugu cinema and receive more offers in the future.
