Shocking: Animation Film Collected 900 Crore On Day 1

Indian movie lovers are always the first to embrace content from across the world. Irrespective of the format, genre, and language, they are always receptive to good content. But the Chinese market is not very receptive to content from other countries. Surprisingly, an animated film from Hollywood is creating big records in China now. The film under discussion is Zootopia 2.

Zootopia 2 earned a massive $556M on its global box office opening weekend. The single-day collection of the film in China is 925+ crore gross. Made on a budget of ~$150M, Zootopia 2 has the highest ever budget for an animated film. The movie scored the highest opening weekend of all time for a Hollywood film in China.

In just four days, Zootopia 2 has already grossed $200 million, positioning it as one of the fastest-grossing Hollywood films ever released in the Chinese market. Now, the biggest doubt in the trade is that an animated film is beating the regular live-action dramas and other commercial films in generating the biggest revenues.

For an animated film, the target audience is always smaller. Moreover, the Chinese market has never been this receptive to Animated films. However, it is pulling out a big stunt at the box office now by setting new records.

The film’s plot is: Detectives Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde find themselves on the twisting trail of a mysterious reptile who turns the mammal metropolis of Zootopia upside down. Testing their growing partnership like never before, they go under cover in new parts of town to crack the case.

If this trend continues, more animated films will make way to Chinese market, and creating an overall demand to come up with more such films globally.
