Avatar 3’s Day 1 Is Less Than Indian Movie’s Day 15

Ranveer Singh’s latest blockbuster Dhurandhar is on track to emerge as the highest grossing Bollywood film of the year in the next few days as it is trailing by just another 60 Crores to beat the current top Hindi grosser of 2025, Chhaava.

Despite the release of James Cameron’s Hollywood biggie Avatar : Fire and Ash, Dhurandhar continues to rake in phenomenal revenues even after two weeks of its release. By the end of its 15th day, the spy thriller has minted 737 Crores worldwide gross and eyeing another solid weekend. While the domestic haul stands at 580 Crores, the overseas tally accounts for 157 Crores.

As per trade reports, Dhurandhar managed to collect ₹22 crore nett in India on Day 15, surprisingly beating Avatar: Fire and Ash, which earned ₹20 crore nett on its Day 1. This unexpected trend highlights Dhurandhar’s strong hold at the box office despite fresh competition.

This year’s biggest Hindi grosser Chhaava grossed 797 Crores in its full run. Dhurandhar is set to surpass Chhaava in the next few days and emerge as the top grossing Bollywood film of the year. Dhurandhar also has a strong chance to topple Kantara Chapter 1 and turn out to be the highest grossing Indian film of the year.

Considering that there are no prominent releases in any other language including Bollywood for the remainder of the year and with Christmas and New Year eve round the corner, Dhurandhar might also eye the coveted 1000 Crore club in the next two weeks. But, it will need to steady run on weekdays and impressive occupancies on weekdays to achieve this historic milestone.

If Dhurandhar manages to enter the prestigious 1000 Crores mark, it will be a historic feat because no A rated movie in the history of Indian cinema collected four figure gross. Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal under Sandeep Reddy’s direction collected close to 920 crores in its full run. Dhurandhar might cross Animal in its full run and achieve another impressive record.
