Anil Ravipudi is the most prolific Sankranti director of Tollywood in recent years because he scored back-to-back blockbusters with F2, Sarileru Neekevvaru and Sankranti ki Vastunnam. Irrespective of the competition from other biggies, Ravipudi delivered crowd pleasing content with his films and bagged unanimous hits on all three occasions.
In the upcoming Sankranti season, Ravipudi will aim to continue his success streak with Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankar Vara Prasad Garu, which is tipped to he another outright entertainer like his previous offerings. But, it will not be an easy going for Ravipudi this time. Not just from other big-ticket films, there will be huge competition from even medium and small budget films which are carrying good reports from inside sources.
While The Raja Saab headlined by Prabhas poses a significant threat, Thalapathy Vijay’s farewell film Jana Nayagan is another marquee film which will release during the same week. Both these films will release three days before Chiru’s MSVPG.
Also in the fray are Ravi Teja’s Bhartha Mahasayalaku Wignyapthi and Naveen Polishetty’s Ananaganaga Oka Raju. Both films have already struck a chord with moviegoers due to promising content in teasers. Sharwanand’s family drama Nari Nari Naduma Murari will also evoke good attention due to the genre.
Surprisingly, Anil Ravipudi has not yet fully commenced his trademark promotional activities despite having huge competition during the festival season. Unlike previous seasons, it will be an uphill task for Ravipudi to stay in the race with his strategies because remaining films will also have aggressive promotions this time.
With just 20 days left for the biggest film festival, Ravipudi need to amp up the promotions for MSVPG. So far, only two songs and a title teaser were unveiled. He will need to come up with a blitzkrieg of promotions in the coming days to score another festival hit.
