Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar took the top pedestal in the list of highest grossing films for 2025 with a remarkable box office performance after its release on December 5th. The anticipation for the sequel keeps gaining momentum with each passing day as the first part ended on a cliffhanger. The second part will continue the spying mission Project Dhurandhar and promises more explosive drama this time.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that the makers are not going to take much gap like most other sequels and decided to release the second part on March 19th 2026 to target the popular Eid festival holiday followed by a long weekend.
Interestingly, Dhurandhar 2 will not be confined to just Hindi like the first installment, but will have a wide release in other languages, particularly in South India. This is because of the stupendous reception for the Hindi version in Telugu states, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The sequel will be dubbed into five languages as per reports.
Given that it is carrying mammoth hype, Dhurandhar 2 is likely to pose a big challenge to other releases during the early Summer period. Several other big-ticket films in Bollywood and South cinema are eyeing Eid festival and the next week to cash in on the Summer vacation.
Notable pan-India films like Toxic, Dacoit, Peddi and The Paradise are slated for release during March.
As Dhurandhar emerged as an outright blockbuster and the story blends patriotic fervor, the sequel will undoubtedly generate significant hype before release like no other film in recent times. Moreover, the sequel may also result in numerous controversies just like the first part and result in bigger buzz among audience. It will give a tough competition for other films with respect to screen count in major cities.
If at all the Aditya Dhar directional will arrive on March 19th without any change in the release plans, there will be no surprises if a major reshuffle of dates among some of the other movies..
