With just 17 days left for the release of Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu, Mega fans are beginning to feel uneasy about the film’s promotions. Usually, director Anil Ravipudi is known for aggressive and creative publicity, but this time, that signature buzz is missing.
While outdoor publicity like posters and theatre hoardings is visible, fans are more concerned about the lack of strong social media noise. The digital promotions, which play a major role today, have not picked up the pace yet.
Interestingly, Anil Ravipudi is not entirely out of the public eye. He is attending events, appearing on TV shows, and maintaining visibility. However, fans feel these appearances lack a clear Mega touch and are not directly boosting the film’s hype. Anil Ravipudi is know for his style of promotions, fans are eagerly waiting to see how freshly Ravipudi promote this time.
Competition is another major worry. Raja Saab is releasing a few days earlier, and Prabhas’ film will still be fresh when Shankara Varaprasad hits screens. Last year, for Sankranthi Ki Vastunnam, Ravipudi started energetic promotions well in advance, from late November itself.
This time, even as December comes to an end, there is no impactful teaser yet. Among the released songs, Meesala Pilla became a chartbuster, while Sasirekha Prasadu received a decent response. Still, songs alone are not enough to generate the required momentum.
Adding to the pressure, Chiranjeevi is returning after a long break following the Bhola Shankar setback. Ravipudi has repeatedly said he is bringing back vintage Chiranjeevi in the style of Rowdy Alludu and Gharana Mogudu, but fans want to see glimpses of that promise through promos.
There is also scope to utilise Venkatesh’s role more effectively in promotions. With two more songs yet to be released, fans strongly feel it is time for Anil Ravipudi to shift gears and go all out with promotions to build solid hype before release.
